The Nigerian Army has, in a special operation in the North-east, unearthed and destroyed rockets fabricated by the Boko Haram terrorists.
But it has, however, clarified that the latest rockets are not from those displayed by Boko Haram in their websites last month.
The Director of Army Public Relations (DAPR), Col. Sani Usman, who confirmed this in a statement on Wednesday, said that the feat was achieved by the troops of 111 Special Forces Battalion, 7 Division Garrison, Nigerian Army.
Usman noted that during a special raid operation carried out on Tuesday at Delwa general area, the troops discovered and knocked out Boko Haram terrorists' rocket factory at Jamrari, Borno State.
According to him, this development has put paid to the much-touted ability of the terrorists to fabricate rockets and their launchers using rudimentary materials.
He remarked: "This has further crippled the terrorists and greatly emboldened the troops in carrying out more offensive actions against the terrorists till they are defeated".
